This course will examine the Engineering Principles and their applications in Timber Design using the Limit States Design method and the provisions outlined in the Standard CSA 086. By the end of the course, students will be able to illustrate theoretical engineering concepts as outlined by the Canadian Wood Council (CWC). The theory and practical design methods will give the student the essential understanding of symbols and terminology necessary in the design of Sawn Lumber and Glulam Timber Structures.
