Students will develop and submit a project proposal to demonstrate the skills and knowledge gained through the course of the program. A primary end goal is to create by the end of the semester, a complete design which will be used as the basis for the subsequent semester Technical Project. Weekly updates will be submitted and presented to the class. Project design and progress to date will be presented orally as a formal presentation to the faculty and fellow classmates near the end of the semester. A final formal project report in the format of a technical paper submitted at the end of the semester will include a full set of electrical and mechanical designs as well as bill-of-materials and progress to date. The technical project/report will focus not only on technological aspects but also the influences on technological development, the impact of technology on people's lives.
