Students will be introduced to Materials and finishes through the study of their historical context, material properties, construction, manufacturing methods, environmental concerns and impacts. They will gain knowledge of how to select and understand appropriate materials and finishing choices for various spaces, as well as learn to communicate information using interior schedules, charts, and drawings. An introduction to material specifications, installation methods, and maintenance strategies will also be presented.
