Bursary for Students with Disabilities (BSWD)

The Bursary for Students with Disabilities (BSWD) is one of the components of the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP).

The BSWD is intended to assist students in meeting additional costs of equipment and supplies related to the student's participation in post-secondary education that the student must incur due to their disability.

A "permanent disability" for OSAP purposes is defined, as follows:

"A functional limitation that is caused by physical or mental impairment that restricts a student's ability to perform the daily activities necessary to participate in studies at a post-secondary level or in the labour force, and that is expected to remain with the student for the student's expected life."

To qualify, students must have applied for OSAP and is required to schedule a meeting with a Counsellor in the Student Services Office. For an appointment, please call 519-972-2727 ext. 4226.
