On August 31, 2022, St Clair College hosted a Paramedic Strategic Summit to better understand the current demands of Paramedic Services and prioritize strategies for 2022/2023. As a result, it was identified that increasing enrollment in the Paramedic program would serve as a longer-term strategy for the recruitment difficulties being experienced across the province. We are happy to advise that the 2023 Windsor Campus Paramedic program has increased its 1st-year enrollment to 60 students, an increase from 40 students in previous years.
To minimize operational constraints in delivering education to a larger group of students, The Essex County Council authorized Essex Windsor EMS to donate decommissioned ambulances to the St. Clair College Paramedic Program according to the following schedule:
- One (1) ambulance in 2023
- One (1) ambulance in 2024 decommissioned ambulance to the Paramedic program.
